Thunderstorm Asthma
The unexpected Thunderstorm Asthma event in Melbourne last week has left six people dead and many in a critical condition. A change in humidity of temperature and wind can lead to a high concentration of allergens in the air and anyone can be affected, regardless of previous allergy or respiratory health. Nic spoke with Professor in Microbiology, Reena Ghildyal, from the University of Canberra to discuss this freak event and how individuals can be better prepared if another storm strikes.
