Tik Tok pocketing over $1 million per month
TikTok is a platform that has exploded in popularity since its introduction in 2019.
The app allows streamers to pocket from their fans by receiving monetary donations.
However, the app itself takes a cut of these donations, pocketing almost 70%. This prompted the ABC to join forces with the Queensland University of Technology to find out just how much streamers were spending. It turns out that in just one month Australians spent a whopping $1.9 million on 84 of Tik Tok’s on the top 84 streamers.
