Tim Minchin On His Heartfelt Christmas Anthem: White Wine In The Sun
Musician and comedian Tim Minchin’s body of work spans through an array of genres and mediums. His live performances, TV show and stage adaptation of the book Matilda have shot him to global stardom. But for many Australians, he’s best known for an unreleased Christmas song he wrote fourteen years ago. White Wine In The Sun is a sentimental homage to family and home, that plucks at the heartstrings of many Australians each Christmas. Every year, Tim donates the proceeds from the song to Autism Spectrum Australia – and this year is no different. He caught up with Thursday Daily producer Stef Posthuma to tell us more about the song, and how it became the heartfelt Christmas anthem it is today.
