Transparent budgets – a way out of corruption?
So much budget talk on at the moment.. And it isn’t even until next Tuesday. There is a lot of confusing numbers and figures and it doesn’t make sense to a lot of people. But what if there was another way?
African countries, such as Ghana, Burkina Faso and Cameroon do it differently with “citizen budgets”.
“Citizen budgets” are a way to make government budgets more transparent and to stamp out corruption.
But, what actually is a “citizen budget”? What are the benefits of a more transparent budget? And, how does this relate to Australia?
