Trigger Warnings in the Classroom
Trigger warnings have been a divisive topic for classrooms in universities around Australia and the world. People seem to be seeing these trigger warnings as ‘censorship, silencing and ‘coddling millennials”, however, others see the positives of having these in a classroom. From a teacher’s perspective, it is able to negotiate the risks and are able to create an open discussion of difficult material.
