Trump Backtracks on US/AUS Immigration Deal
You may remember the agreement that the Australian Government made with the Obama Administration – it made a lot of headlines at the time. As you may have noticed though, we aren’t dealing with the Obama Administration anymore, and the Trump Administration has a far more severe view of immigration. Reports from the US this morning revealed that the US is putting the deal under intense scrutiny, and the ABC is currently reporting that the White House has backtracked on the deal.
So how will this affect Australia and the refugees we’re holding offshore? We spoke to Tim O’connor, acting CEO of the Refugee Council of Australia to find out.
