Our Magic Hour is the insightful debut novel from Melbournian writer and editor, Jennifer Downes that explores the emotional whirlwind that comes with death and grief. Set in her native city, Downes’ story centres on the best friends of Katy in the aftermath of her suicide. Downes’ multilayered novel deals with aspects of love, loss and the journey of self-realisation and discovery when you are young. Andrew Pople from 2ser’s Final Draft show came by to discuss the novel for Tuesday Book Club.
