This week Tess and Andrew take a look at another debut Australian novel: “The Helpline” by Katherine Collette.
“The Helpline” takes a look at the quirky life of Germaine Johnson, an insurance agency employee who loses her job in “unfortunate circumstances”.
Fortunately she is able to get back on her feet with a job on a senior citizen’s helpline – but things quickly get out of hand as Germaine comes to the realisation that she is more of a numbers person than a people person.
Funny and absurdly relateable, “The Helpline” is out now.
