Turning Law Into Code

CSIRO are aiming to fix the sentencing challenges facing judges with a new proposal; one which will turn the law into digital code, readable by computers. These computers could then pass judgement based on the code, freeing up the legal system and easing the workload of judges.

The Daily’s Wilimina Russo spoke with Dr Joe McIntyre Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of South Australia, about the possible pitfalls of this new proposal.
