Live From the Ocean: Two Grandads Kayaking over 400km to Blockade Worlds Largest Coal Port

Today, two grandfathers, Simon Leslie and Tom Hunt, are sailing in a sea kayak named “No More Fossil Fuel” to deliver a message to politicians: “No More Coal Exports”.

They have been battling choppy seas and headwinds since they set out from Port Kembla nearly a week ago. The 435 km journey from Illawarra/Shoalhaven concludes in Newcastle, where they’ll join a two-day blockade organized by Rising Tide on November 25th and 26th, to challenge climate change.

Mooring in Sydney on the 10th, the pair will come upon land at the Man o’ War steps at the Sydney Opera House to meet with climate dignitaries.
