Government announces proposal to increase Jobseeker payment
Its been 26 years since unemployment payments have been permanently increased. While corona virus lead to some increases as the unemployment rate rocketed, the government is now planning on legislating a permanent change to the rate of Jobseeker.
As the corona virus supplement is set to expire on march 31st, these new changes will begin on April 1st.
But is it the right time and is it enough to help those who are most vulnerable in society?
