University Grade Inflation – What is it and should we be worried?

Last week, a study conducted at the University of Sydney showed high distinction rates in uni student grades have risen by almost triple between 2012 and 2021. This is known as “grade inflation”. Is it a sign of lowering standards? Could it be something else?
