University of Sydney Staff to go on Strike
Staff at the University of Sydney are preparing for industrial action this week, in response to the administration’s refusal to acknowledge poor working conditions, such as overwork, exploitative casualisation and threats of redundancy.
The NTEU says that “management has refused to acknowledge that many of these problems even exist, and has no real solutions for any of them” leaving “no alternative but to strike.”
For 48 hours, NTEU members will stop work and picket the campus, and have warned they will initiate a further strike in two weeks, if necessary.
