University Students Lacking Motivation in Lockdown

Alongside other uncertainties and tragedies that have occurred because of COVID-19, the education system has taken a hard hit. Universities were already planning on transitioning to having the majority of their courses delivered online anyway, but of course, this pandemic sped up the process and institutions have found that maybe online learning isn’t as good as they presumed. Students who have come straight out of high school have gone from having strict schedules and teachers to having freedom and holding themselves accountable for their work, most seem to be struggling with the lenience that has come with only doing online classes at home. Many students have found studying online to have taken a mental toll, and some have actually dropped out of university altogether.
