Up to 80% of university students don’t complete their required readings. Here’s why.

Completing university work is often difficult to balance without the stress of a lockdown, online classes as well as with the commitments of daily life. Most students undergoing their tertiary education are frequently finding little to no time, or a lack of motivation to complete the required readings of the subjects they are undertaking within the semester. A recent study found that up to 80 percent of university students don’t complete their assigned readings, which has an impact on the marks they receive after their finals. Lecturer in Educational Development, Sandris Zeivots at the University of Sydney is joined with us at 2SER, to discuss this topic as well as provide valuable advice to the teachers out there who notice their students struggling to complete their university readings.
