Update: Fire Situation in Sydney
Yesterday Sydney endured temperatures in excess of 30 degrees, and was our hottest day in over seven months. While many may Sydneysiders have been put off by all the smoke in the city skyline, spare a thought for the Rural Fire Service, who had to deal with several out of control bushfires near Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley.
While temperatures have cooled today, the fires still pose a serious threat today. Here to update us on the situation and also to provide some handy fire-safe information as we head into summer was John Redman, Media Officer at the NSW Rural Fire Service.
