Urgent Policies Needed To Reduce Road Deaths
Last year, there were nearly 1,200 road accident deaths across Australia – a figure that hasn’t decreased in over a decade.
However, professors from the University of Melbourne say Australia is not on track to achieve the 2030 National Road Safety Strategy targets of halving road fatalities and reducing serious injuries by 30%.
Injuries have risen by nearly 5,000 from 2013-2019, and experts are urgently calling for new road safety policies to address the issue.
