USB Sticks Part of the Leopard Seal Diet
What do you think Leopard Seals eat? Penguins? Yes. Birds? Yes. Fish? Absolutely. When curious scientists started sifting through some Leopard Seal scat recently, they got more than penguin bones – they found a USB stick. What was on that USB stick? Videos of seals frolicking, of course! A case of seal-ception! NIWA’s Krista Hupman was the Cetacean Biologist and Ecologist to whom the USB was delivered. Krista joined us on Weekend Breakfast to tell us about the discovery, and some real science about Leopard Seal population-distribution, too.
