Victims seeking refuge from domestic violence have nowhere to go in Sydney’s wealthiest area

A 2017 NSW Coroners Report identified the limited availability of shelter accommodation and temporary housing to be a central concern for women escaping domestic violence.

While reported incidents of domestic assault are much lower in the eastern suburbs than in the west, community concerns in the Woollahra local government area are on the rise.

Currently, there is nowhere to go for refuge from domestic violence in Sydney’s most affluent district.
