Music has always come to us in many shapes and forms and can reveal a lot about a person, what they like, what they may not like, who their influences are and even the types of music they grew up with. Music has a powerful effect and is everywhere around us but experiencing music in the form of vinyls are a game changer. Since 2015 there has been a resurgence in the use of and appreciation of vinyls with many current artists opting to use vinyl pressings to release their music as well as digitally and in CD forms. With this revival of the vinyl comes an appreciation of the music of the past and what this represents and the value it brings. Recently Macquarie University has received an archive containing an estimated 5000 vinyl records, Oliver Turner joined us to talk about the archive.
