Virtual Trail Engaging Children in Science

To kick off National Science Week, the Australian Museum and the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney are hosting the Sydney Science Trail, a free event for children (5 – 15), providing a virtual experience that explores essential areas of science. Over the next month, students and teachers will be able to go on an online quest which includes exhibitions, workshops, live panels and interactive activities that are based on the theme of adaptation. As we look towards scientists in the wake of Covid-19, National Science Week and events like these are great opportunities for the community to support and engage with those in the STEM field and be inspired to pursue these types of careers. So what is a virtual trail and how are experiences like these shaping the future of education?

2SER spoke with Tori Tasker, Creative Producer of Public Programs at the Australian Museum.
