It has been almost a year since the Voice referendum.

The Uluru Statement from the heart called for three things: voice, treaty and truth. More than 6 million Australians voted in favour of an Indigenous Voice to Parliament but it wasn’t enough to win the referendum and secure it in the Constitution.

First Nations people and their allies continue to explain the importance of Voice, Treaty and Truth. And treaty negotiations and truth-telling commissions are either in-place or being planned in several states and territories. But there has been little movement on Treaty or Truth at the national level.

Now a Bill is in Australian Parliament that would establish a Commonwealth Truth and Justice Commission, which supporters say could expose, examine and redress historical injustices.
