WA New Cultural Heritage Act Kicks Off Amid Confusion
New legislation has been put into effect on the 1st of July, amid confusion and controversy in Western Australia.
The Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act was updated following the outrage surrounding Rio Tinto’s destruction of the Juukan Gorge rock shelters in 2020.
But how does the new legislation actually operate? and why are so many people opposed?
