Waste Management in Australia

Ever wondered where your rubbish goes or how much landfill Australia creates everyday? We should – the Woodlawn landfill, 240km southwest of Sydney, gets more waste than any other landfill in Australia.

Since Australia stopped incinerating rubbish in the middle of the 20th century, most of our solid waste has ended up in landfill and waste management is an important discussion we should have. Breakfast spoke to Professor Bill Clarke, from the University of Queensland.
