Each year 20 million tonnes of garbage goes to landfill in Australia – which is around 40% of the waste we generate.
But what if we could give that waste a real and significant purpose rather than just stuffing it in the ground?
Converting waste into a source of fuel is becoming more and more feasible and could reshape the way we power our cars, homes and cities – but some are concerned about the conversion process being expensive and damaging to the environment.
