Reservation Dogs follows the lives of four Indigenous teenagers living on a reservation in rural Oklahoma. They all have dreams of travelling to magical and far-off land of California, and will cheat, rob, and steal to get there. Reservation Dogs is the first American series to feature all Indigenous writers and directors, along with an almost entirely Indigenous North American cast and crew.

Series: Minx

Starring Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson, Minx follows the story of earnest young feminist Joyce (Lovibond) as she joins forces with low-rent magazine publisher Doug (Johnson) to create the world’s first erotic magazine for women. We see the magazine go from start-up to successful as the characters combat social prejudices and corporate takeovers.

All seasons of Minx are available on Stan.

Album: Frog In Boiling Water

A pure example of Shoegaze in a genre often misrepresented by overly ethereal and wistful sounding songs, Frog In Boiling Water is a well structured and somewhat menacing album from DIIV. Recorded in a rented house in the Mojave Desert amidst turmoil and pressures from band members’ personal lives, Frog in Boiling Water is a particularly raw album underscored by DIIV’s signature reverb and dirty distorted guitar.

Frog in Boiling Water is available on Bandcamp and Spotify.
