Bushfire ‘expert’ David Packham has been doing the rounds of right-wing media outlets like 2GB telling them it’s the fuel load not climate change that is driving Australia’s unprecedented bushfire crisis. On Monday he was on Sky News telling ex Tony Abbott Chief of Staff turned TV Show host Peta Credlin it was greenies and our brave fire fighters who were to blame for Australia’s bushfire emergency.

“The two I identified who gain out of these disasters… were the Greens because… they could blame all the fires on climate change and that helps them,”

“The other is the fire agencies because the fire agencies over the last century or so have failed every time to control the fires, they generate a myth if you give them more resources they can control, we give them more resources and they fail.”

Host of 2ser’s pop-up Breakfast show on the bushfire crisis, Tim Brunero, suggested perhaps he reassess some of his thoughts on the matter.
