21st Biennale of Sydney Superposition: Equilibrium & Engagement

Superposition: Equilibrium & Engagement, curated by Artistic Director Mami Kataoka, presents the work of 70 artists and artist collectives from 35 countries. Artist such as Ai Wei Wie shows the 60 metres boat made from the very rubber urges on the refugee vessels that travel in the Aegean Sea from Turkey to Greece. It urges us to take a closer look at the refugee crisis. Artist Ciara Philiips transforms the ground floor of the gallery of NSW into working printmaking workshop. It raises questions of authorship, solidarity, and productive exchange through shared making. And lots more!

ChilliFest 2018

Newtown’s annual Chilli Festival is back for a second year in a row! The ultimate event for chilli lovers everywhere, the day long festival on June long weekend, is the ultimate celebration of all things hot and spicy. On this event, all sort of chilli food specials on a ranging level of heat, from “chil” to “fire”. Also you can join the chili eating competition! The winner of this year’s competition will receive the Chillifest Trophy, along with a $500 food and drink voucher gift pack. Not to mention there will be music performance from 3pm.

Transport Heritage Expo 2018

Transport Heritage Expo brings Sydney’s transport history to life with heritage train and bus rides, train displays, live music and so much more! Don’t miss this fantastic and nostalgic long weekend event for families and transport enthusiasts alike. Various fun activities will be held such as step aboard a heritage dining carriage from the golden era of rail travel for 40 minutes Devonshire Tea Sitting (different schedule and paid tickets apply), St. James Tunnel Tours, see various selection of heritage cars and locomotives as they depart to Central Station, and Q&A session about the locomotive 3801 project.
