In today’s Weekly Feed segment Alison reflects on an underappreciated gem in Marrickville: The Yeeros Shop.
This fast food joint has been serving up yiros to hungry Inner Westies since 1976. And there’s definitely a flavour of nostalgia here – they are one of the few places left to still hand cut their potato chips.
The Greek yeeros or “yiros” has long struggled in Sydney to compete with its rival late-night snack, the kebab. But Alison reckons the yiros has a nicer, gentler flavour than the kebab. And her secret? Hold the sauce (except for tzatziki of course)!
