With a week heavy with transport and political news, it’s been a fairly typical news week.

There’s been a second council in Melbourne pitching to scrap Australia day on the 26th of January and the last chance to enroll in the postal ballot on same-sex marriage was midnight last night.

Sydney’s Inner West trams had an increase in passengers while the M4 has had reduction of users after the M4 toll that was introduced recently. Parramatta light rail has been announced with no budget mentioned, with 80 properties expected to be demolished in the making of the light rail.

Comedy star Jerry Lewis has passed away at 81, with tributes from fellow comedians across social media sharing their love. Police in Barcelona shot the 22 year old suspected of last weeks terror attack. And on a lighter note, Denmark’s Prince Frederik was strangely enough, turned down from a bar in Brisbane after not having his ID.
