Welfare groups say Federal Budget ‘ignores’ people in poverty

In a speech last week, Australian Treasure, Dr Jim Chalmers, pledged “meaningful and substantial” cost-of-living relief as the centrepiece of this year’s pre-election Federal Budget.
Tuesday’s announcement included a suite of tax cuts, and greater Medicare and power rebates.
But welfare groups are disappointed, saying the Budget leaves millions in poverty, and those with the least, far worse off.
