WestConnex plans continue to cause controversy

The WestConnex has often been hailed as the infrastructure that could bring Western Sydney close to the CBD, cutting commuting times drastically. However the project has already hit issues, the biggest one being the government has begun exploratory work despite parts of the project not being approved, ignoring not only planning laws but the voices of the local communities. Already many people have submitted individual objections against the project.

Sean Britten was joined on the line by Jenny Leong, Greens MP for Newtown, to discuss the issues surrounding the WestConnex as well as the demonstration that took place at Tempe Reserve yesterday morning, halting preparatory work for drilling.
