Anime live-action adaptations are gaining popularity with Netflix recently releasing live-action adaptations of One Piece and Avatar, the Last Airbender to a largely positive reception. But Western audiences have a weird relationship with these works, scrutinising anime live-action adaptations critically; celebrating successes and relentlessly tearing down flops.
