What a Mission to Mars Can Teach Us About Food Waste

Ever thought about visiting Mars? Well the Mars 100 mission hopes to bring 100 of the brightest minds on our planet on a one way trip to the big red planet to start a human colony. One of these candidates for the mission Dianne McGrath has just spent two weeks at the Mars Desert Research Station in the US state of Utah studying sustainability and food waste in a rather extreme scenario. 

Dianne McGrath joined The Daily to tell us more about her experience in the simulated Mars mission and what she uncovered about food waste on her interplanetary mission in the US desert.
