Notre Dame Cathedral located in Paris, France has become one of the Catholic world’s most revered and historically significant places of worship. Interlaced with the city of Paris, Notre Dame has long been a place for many tourists to visit and witness its beauty. But with a recent fire gutting the roof of the Notre Dame Cathedral as well as causing further significant damage, the world is reeling from its loss. Today The Daily is joined in the studio by Clare Monagle, Associate Professor in Medieval History at Macquarie University to speak to us about about the cultural significance of Notre Dame and the implications of the tragic fire that Australians woke up to on yesterday morning.
