What’s the Go With Snowy Hydro 2.0?
The feasibility study into the Snowy Hydro Scheme 2.0, released yesterday found the project to be financially and technically viable, however, at twice the expected cost. The project announced in March this year was initially priced at $2 billion, which has now been upgraded to cost between $3.8 – $4.5 billion. The Snowy Hydro 2.0 will generate 2000 megawatts to the national electricity market, which sees the scheme increased by 50 percent. Professor Gerard Ledwich Chair in Power Engineering and Principal Research Fellow in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science at QUT joined us on The Daily to talk about the scheme.
