The feasibility study into the Snowy Hydro Scheme 2.0, released yesterday found the project to be financially and technically viable, however, at twice the expected cost. The project announced in March this year was initially priced at $2 billion, which has now been upgraded to cost between $3.8 – $4.5 billion. The Snowy Hydro 2.0 will generate 2000 megawatts to the national electricity market, which sees the scheme increased by 50 percent.
