What’s next for the Marriage Equality Vote?
In the afternoon of September 7, the news broke that the High Court would uphold the legality of the postal plebiscite for the Marriage Equality Act. This was a blow for many campaigners, who hoped that a successful legal challenge would push the onus back on parliament and allow for a free vote.
But the fight is most certainly not over and 2ser’s own Geoff Field is more than ready to wade into the fray. Since having his own high-profile — and illegal — same sex marriage back in 2005 Geoff has been a strong campaigner for the right for all to get married, regardless of whom they love.
Geoff spoke with Nic about his past, his work on the current campaign and what the next steps are for supporter of true marriage equality.
