WHO’S First World Drowning Prevention Day

The 25th July 2021 marked the first World Drowning Prevention Day, established by the World Health Organisation and United Nations General Assembly. With the aim to educate and promote individuals and communities all around the world, this initiative will be held annually to promote the severity of drowning and its prevalence around the world.

With 236,000 of the world’s youth (up to 24 years old) drowning every year, the severity of this issue is evident and is being promoted through educational methods and online awareness campaigns.
