Why Are More Australians Against Immigration?
“For some politicians and media commentators, immigration has become an obsession.” That is what the author behind the new report from the Scalon Foundation says, as findings shown that the Australian public have become more tougher on immigration now than they were in 2017. 43 per cent of respondents believed that the immigration intake is too high, in contrast to 37 per cent last year. So why is that the case? The author of the report and Monash University Professor, Andrew Markus joined us on the Wednesday Daily to talk about these findings.
