When Aretha Franklin, “Queen of Soul”, passed away last year at the age of 76, she did so without leaving legal instructions for how she’d like her $80 million estate to be dealt with. While it’s impossible to know why the singer didn’t have a Will, it was widely reported that her team of attorneys had repeatedly urged her to create one, but she ‘never got around to it’.
