Why Protecting an Independent ABC is a Priority
Despite being a state owned media company, the ABC has consistently been the nation’s most trusted source of news since the 1950’s. Despite this the independent news source has been under attack. Since 2014 the Abbott and Turnbull governments have cut $338 million from the ABC’s funding, and the federal council of the Liberal Party voted last month to put forth privatize it. The love of our national news service is not universal.
