Why University Students are an Essential Part of Social Justice Movements
This past week, we commemorated International Women’s Day and Mardi Gras. Although these occasions are now celebrated, they both have a strong history of activism and protest. What’s more, is that often at the front of these social justice movements are high school and university students.
2SER’s Stef from The Daily chatted with Anna Thieben, President of the UTS Students’ Association, about the evolution of student activism over time and why students should fight for issues they care about.
If you would like to become more involved in social justice causes this year, you can support the upcoming global climate strike on Friday 25th March.
