Wik vs Queensland – How it changed the Indigenous Landscape

In 1996 the Wik people of Cape York won a historical High Court decision which recognised their claim for co-existence of pastoral land. A new documentary looks back to over twenty years ago as Indigenous Australians struggled to obtain recognition under the law, examining a period in the early-nineties when the reconciliation movement promised so much for the first Australians and how this progress was scuppered by the incoming conservative Howard Government.
