Will A New Agreement Kickstart The Economy Of Timor-Leste?
So Foreign Minister Julie Bishop travelled to New York earlier this week to finally sign an agreement which will draw a permanent boundary between Australia & Timor-Leste for the first time. This agreement will seek to finalise the share of revenue from the lucrative Greater Sunrise Gas Field in the Timor Sea, putting forward either a 70/30 or 80/20 share of revenue from the field into the hands of Timor-Leste. So how will this deal affect the relatively new economy of Timor-Leste?
