Can the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Be Solved?
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the world’s longest running political disputes, dating all the way back to Biblical times. For decades now, world leaders have attempted to quell social unrest amidst the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, no one has succeeded in this attempt just yet. Recently, US President Donald Trump revealed details of a long-anticipated peace plan aimed to diffuse tensions between Israel and Palestine. Unsurprisingly, the 50-page peace plan has been widely condemned by Palestinians, who argue that their minimum rights and aspirations have not been met.
We were joined by Dr Eyal Mayroz to discuss whether Trump’s peace plan can resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He is a lecturer in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney.
