Leadership struggles in the Liberal party
In a Cabinet meeting this week Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull put his position up for grabs to party members in a show of good faith. Frontbencher Peter Dutton put his hand up for the role and narrowly missed out on becoming Australia’s next Prime Minister. Turnbull kept the top job, for now. There are murmurings of another leadership challenge coming, and it is possible Australia could have a new Prime Minister in the coming weeks. Tess is joined by Dr Stewart Jackson, a Lecturer in the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney, who says there will be another leadership challenge, the question is when.
