Women and Asthma
Around 2.5 million people across Australia have asthma. In adults, it’s two times more prevalent and severe in women than men, despite being more common in boys than girls before puberty.
An international research team has found for the first time that testosterone actually prevents males from developing asthma, which helps explain the trend. So what can be done from here?
