Unfortunately, Australia is not new to the concept of females lacking in the STEM fields. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are predicted to be at the forefront of many industries in the future, however there still remains to be a lack of gender equity in those fields.  

But things may be changing through the Women in STEM Decadal Plan. The plan was developed by the Australian Academy of Science in Partnership with the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering. 

Breakfast chatted with Anna-Maria Arabia, the Chief Executive of the Australian Academy of Science about how the Decadal Plan is aimed at achieving equity in those areas for ambitious females.
