Working In Isolation

It is often said that humans are social creatures, but as more career and life-style trends, such as the gig economy, lead to people working more individually, what can happen to us when we work, and live, in isolation? Agustin Chevez, Adjunct Research Fellow at the Centre For Design Innovation, at Swinburne University of Technology, has extensively studied isolation in relation to our working environment. Chevez, who recently completed a 42-day trek from Melbourne to Sydney, alone, joined Drive on the line to discuss a bit more about how isolation affects the workplace.
