World Wi-Fi Day
The internet is an integral aspect of today’s modern culture; specifically, Wi-Fi. It’s something that enables people from all over the world to learn and connect with one another, as well as improve economic growth. According to the World Wi-Fi Day website, total public Wi-Fi spots will grow sevenfold from 64.2 million in 2015 to 432.5 million in 2020. But what about the people in developing countries who aren’t able to access the internet as easily, or those who have no access at all? That’s where World Wi-Fi Day comes in. We had Associate Professor Mark Gregory from RMIT on the show to tell us all about it.
